An amateur hybridizer, working in his small garden, he was responsible for introducing some of the finest lavender and purple tetraploid daylilies available. Before his death in 1978, Marsh made arrangements with Charles Klehm and Sons Nursery to acquire his stock and to release the daylilies that he would not live long enough to register. Since then many beautiful new "Chicago" introductions have continued the legacy of Marsh's ground breaking work. Be sure to check them out! They are identified by the Chicago before the name. |
